Dannie Lee Cooper, 76, a resident of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by his family, on January 26, 2021. Dannie was born on May 3, 1944 in Paden, Oklahoma, to Henry and Palmer (Lee) Cooper.
Dannie grew up and attended school in Paden, graduating from Paden High School in 1963. In 1965, Dannie joined the Army National Guard where he served our country for 9 years. Dannie moved to Prague in 1968. In 1969, he married Linda Sala in Paden. They made their home in Prague where he was self-employed as a mechanic.
Dannie was a man with a great sense of humor. He loved to poke fun at anyone he could, including his family. At the same time, he had a great pride for his family, and was known for instilling that same pride in all who loved him. He loved to noodle and taught his family to noodle as well. Dannie also enjoyed hunting, boxing, and watching and coaching high school sports. Dannie was also known for his “Elvis Presley” hair.
Dannie was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Palmer Cooper; a son, Keith Cooper; brothers, Larry Cooper, and Johnny Dale Cooper; his stepmother, Emma Cooper; a brother-in-law, Don Gregory; and a sister-in-law, Pamela Cooper.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Linda Cooper; sons, Chad Cooper and his wife Dianna, and Chris Cooper and wife, Dallas; Grandchildren, Madison Runyan, Morgan Cooper, Jaxson Cooper, Mason Cooper, and Aiden Cooper; one great-grandson, Roman Runyan; sisters, Patsy Gregory, and Angie Whisnant; brothers, Bobby Cooper, Glenn Cooper and his wife, Terry, Lyndel Cooper and wife, Sheri, Jodie Cooper and wife, Misty, and Berry Cooper; sister-in-law, Billie Cooper; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Cooper, Raymond Cooper, Willie Cooper, Coty Cooper, John Cooper, Thomas Cooper, Glenna Cooper, Jonathan Cooper, Lara Donnell, Melissa Smith, Shelley Austin, Kevin Gregory, Trey Gregory, Larry Ray Cooper, Lance Mckey, Tabytha Cooper, Tessa Cooper, Trinity Cooper, Tye Cooper, Trevor Cooper, Ashley Guinn, Emily Whisnant, and Josh Whisnant; other extended family members and friends.
