ALVINA HEINZIG BENESH

22 Jun 1919 - 6 Aug 2012

Alvina Benesh, 93, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was born June 22, 1919 in Prague, Oklahoma to Bruno and Martha Heinzig. She was united in marriage to Herman Benesh on June 12, 1937.

Alvina and Herman moved to Norman in 1955 from Prague. They were the founding members of University Christian Church and had been very active members. She loved going to the YMCA for water exercise. Alvina's main joy was her family, friend and gardening.

Alvina is survived by her Son; Richard Benesh and wife Jeri; Daughter; Margaret Benesh; Sister; Mildred; Brother; Earl; Grandchildren; Debbie Benesh, Terry Benesh, Patty Benesh-Honeysuckle; Great-grandchildren; Allison and Emily Benesh; Sherry Zerby and Family that lovingly called her grandma. Many Nieces, Nephews and loving friends which she treasured.

Alvina will be remembered for her christian living, gentle nature and sweet smile.

She is preceded in death by her Husband; Herman; Sister; Anna; Brothers; Albert and Emil.

Memorials may be made to University Christian Church, 616 Bud Wilkinson Drive, Norman, Oklahoma, 73069 building fund or Charity of Choice.Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 with family greeting friend from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel of Norman with interment following at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012 in the Czech National Cemetery in Prague, Oklahoma. Arrangements for Alvina and her family have been placed in the care of the Vice Family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online Condolences may be shared www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com.
