David Daniel Anderson passed away on March 5, 2023, at the age of 78. He was born on May 22,1944 in Gerty, OK to Edwin Eugene Anderson and Jeanette Robinson Anderson. He married his high school sweetheart Peggy Diane Stites on September 10, 1963 and they made their home in Prague, OK. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in September of this year. David graduated from Chickasha High School in 1963 and attended Oklahoma Christian College on a Basketball scholarship.
David spent many years in the Insurance Business both as an underwriter and agent. He then worked for the Chickasaw Nation until retirement in 2018. He enjoyed teaching culture and customer service classes to the employees. David was very proud of his Native American Heritage.
David enjoyed traveling with the love of his life Peggy and playing golf courses all over the United States. Both enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren who brought them much joy. You could usually find them at a ball game year around. David loved children and he spent over 50 years developing young athletes. State Championships in his family run deep. He started the tradition by winning a Basketball State Championship in 1963 and the tradition continued through his children and grandchildren with a combined total of 24 State Championships. David attended the Prague Freewill Baptist Church.
David is proceeded in death by his father Edwin Eugene Anderson, mother Jeanette Robinson Anderson, sister Ann (Anderson) Sipes, brothers John Anderson, and Robert Anderson.
Survivors include his wife of the home Peggy (Stites) Anderson, siblings Sue Witzke Kennesaw, GA, Ronald Anderson Parker, AZ, Jim and Fran Anderson of Fresno, CA, Tewana Edwards of Shawnee, OK, and Portia Anderson of Chickasha, OK. Children Doug Anderson and Klesha Noland of Chandler, daughter Nicki and Danny Manning of Prague, and son Dan and Leslie Anderson of Mississippi. Grandchildren: Kiley and Aaron Nault, Daniele Manning, Hannah Anderson, Chabon Anderson, Delanie Manning, Diana and Avery Rothrock, Demi Manning, Jeremiah Jones, Benjamin Wells, Arianna Osborne, Simmer Osborne, Evan Anderson, Taylor Anderson and Jake Anderson. Great Grandchildren: Falah Wilkey, Remington and Savage Nault, Katherine Davis, and Liam Anderson.
