1949 - 2012
Miles Christopher Zimmerman was born on March 3, 1949, in Topeka, Kansas, and departed this life on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, in Stroud, Oklahoma, at the age of 63.Miles, the son of Jack and Mary Frances Wray Zimmerman, lived east of Agra, Oklahoma.He grew up in Lawrence, Kansas and graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School.He married Stephanie Mather on September 23, 1988 in Rossville, Oklahoma.Miles was an agent and the first legal officer of the OSBI, served as the district attorney for the 23rd Judicial District {Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties} from 1991 - 1996, and was in private practice as an attorney in Meeker and Chandler. Miles was a member of the AF&AM Masonic Lodge #269, loved coaching little league football in Meeker and was passionate about ranching.His parents preceded Miles in death.Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Stephanie Mather of the home; son, Matt Zimmerman and his wife Cari and of Westborough, Massachusetts, daughter, Keri Zimmerman-Standlee and her husband, Aaron Standlee of Meeker; brother, Marc Zimmerman of Rochester, New York, sisters, Kim Supernault of Rochester, New York, Christine Zimmerman of Lebanon, Tennessee, mother-in-law, June Mather of Enid, three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Chandler with Pastor Matt Zimmerman officiating.Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery in Parkland, Oklahoma.
