Albert Wayne Hiemer, Tryon, Oklahoma, resident, was born September 22, 1937, in Warwick, Oklahoma, and departed this life November 21, 2017, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years.
Albert was the son of Leo and Alice (Beasler) Hiemer. He grew up in the Chandler area, and graduated from Chandler High School in 1955. Albert married Ruthina Reedy on January 19, 1962, in Chandler, Oklahoma. Albert went to work in construction just out of high school and went on to work in construction for over 30 years. His first job, was with the Griffin Construction Company in Shawnee during which time he helped build the first Sonic Drive-In. His next job was with The Atlas Organization. It was then that he met Ron Yordi who had plans to start his own construction company. Albert went to work for Yordi Construction in 1972 rising to construction superintendant. Yordi Construction ultimately became Smith & Pickel Construction and Albert continued his employment with them until his retirement in 2001. Albert was also a rodeo enthusiast, who spent a great deal of his time as a bulldogger on the rodeo circuit.
His parents, Leo and Alice Hiemer preceded Albert in death.
Survivors include, his wife Ruthina of the home; two children, Todd and Julie Hiemer of Edmond and Tricia and Ted Soderstrom of Morrison, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Ashley and Alec Kerce, Katie Hiemer, Kaycee Soderstrom and Harlee Soderstrom; brother and sister-in-law Jimmie and Laquita Hiemer of Meeker; sisters and brothers-in-law Carol and Kent Frost of Meeker, Frances Standridge of Flower Mound, TX, and Freda and Gary Gardner of Mustang ; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, Oklahoma, with Brother Damon Edminsten officiating. Burial will follow at the Parkland Cemetery, in Parkland, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
