Glenda Rae Hicks Vaughn, was born March 26, 1941, Liberal, Kansas, to Gifford Russell Hicks and Mabel Frances Sledge Hicks. She passed on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at the age of 79. Glenda was betrothed to Loyd Wesley Vaughn, June 27, 1959. Of this union were born three sons: Gerald Loyd Vaughn, Steven Lynn Vaughn, and Travis Glen Vaughn. In 1983 the Vaughns moved to Oklahoma, settling in Stillwater, where they resided the remainder of their lives. Glenda was employed by City of Stillwater until her retirement. Glenda and Loyd were participants in Kairos Prison Ministry Team and Walk to Emmaus for a number of years. They attended Lost Creek Methodist Church, Stillwater, Oklahoma, where Glenda served for many years as organist.
Glenda was predeceased by her husband, Loyd W. Vaughn, her father, Gifford R. Hicks, her mother, Mabel S. Hicks, and her eldest son, Gerald L. Vaughn.
She is survived by her son, Steve L. (Leeann) Vaughn (PA), son, Travis G. Vaughn (OK); her granddaughters, Rebekah (Mike) Wood (NC), Laurel Vaughn (TN), Keileigh (Nolan) Neugebauer (TX), grandson Kamron (Kaylee) Vaughn (OK), great-grandchildren Alexis and Madelynn Wood, Kaleb and Addie Neugebauer, and Carl Silas Vaughn, brothers Jim (Monica) Hicks (TX), Curt Hicks (TX), Darryl (Karen) Hicks (TX), Wendell (Treva) Hicks (OK), and sister Sheila (Russ) Killingsworth (OK). Additionally, Glenda is survived by a host of adoring relatives and friends. The family sends heartfelt thanks to the talented and caring medical teams at Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Post-acute Medical Specialty Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma. A private graveside service will be held at a later time.
