Barbara Ann Selcer was born July 25, 1946, to Leon and Myrtle Camren in Cushing, Oklahoma. She passed away, February 21, 2024 in Drumright at the age of 77.
She was the only girl with three brothers, Kenny, Dennis, and Jerry. They lived numerous places until settling in Agra, Oklahoma where Barbara graduated from Agra High School with the class of 1964.
She married Melvin Selcer on January 14, 1966, celebrating 58 years of marriage last month. They have two children, Karen, and Joe, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Barbara spent many years as a babysitter, usually having a houseful of kids, often having some from birth all the way up through grade school. She was a member of Agra First Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for many years often taking care of the kids she babysat during the week.
Barbara enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores whenever she got the chance. She also enjoyed watching gameshows on TV, her favorite being Wheel of Fortune. She and Melvin frequently went to Branson, often once a month for several years. Most of all, Barbara enjoyed being a grandma.
Barbara was preceded by her parents, Leon, and Myrtle, along with brothers, Kenny and Jerry. Survivors include husband Melvin of the home, daughter Karen Hippe of Bullard, Texas, son, Joe Selcer and wife Rebecca of Agra, three grandchildren, Tyler Doak of Cushing, Jesse Selcer and Sara Selcer of Agra, two great grandchildren, Cora Doak and Lucas Doak of Cushing, brother Dennis and wife Diana Camren of Agra, along with numerous other relations including niece LaDonna Stockholm who helped care for Barbara for the last few years.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 am Monday, February 26, 2024 at Agra First Baptist Church with interment following at Osage Cemetery near Agra, Oklahoma under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston, Oklahoma.
