Harvey Roy Rackley, Sr. was born on February 19, 1934 in Chandler, Oklahoma to William and Edna (Reynolds) Rackley. He passed away on May 31, 2018 at his home in Chandler, at the age of 84.
Harvey grew up in Chandler and moved to Guthrie as a child. He married Gail (Spurgeon) in 1956 and had a son. He later married Lana (Lyon) and they had 3 children. Harvey served his country proudly in the United States Army National Guard and the Reserves. He worked for a short time in the oil field and later, worked as a painter and foreman for General Motors for over 10 years. Harvey was passionate about horses and raised his children around them and a farming lifestyle. He enjoyed old movies and old country music, drinking coffee, and his garden.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gail (Spurgeon); 2 young siblings, adult siblings, Clover Rackley, Louie Rackley, Glenn Rackley, Herman Rackley, Mildred Hogan, and Teresa Marascuilo. Survivors include his wife, Lana (Lyon) Rackley of Guthrie; children, Billy Rackley and wife Diana of Portland, Oregon, Harvey Rackley, Jr. and wife Holli of Liberal, Kansas, Tammy Stout and husband Charles of Guthrie, Brenda Ward and husband Don of Guthrie, Carl Scott and wife April of Woodward; (13) grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Meteer of Chandler along with many other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 in the Lehman Funeral Home chapel with interment following in the Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
