Carol was born April 10, 1941, in Chandler, Oklahoma, to Raymond and Velma (Walker) Jones, and passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Enid. She graduated from Chandler High School in 1958, and married John Parsons on June 6 of that same year. Throughout their life together, John and Carol lived in a variety of places in Oklahoma including Chandler, Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Later they moved to Overland Park, Kansas, and St. Joseph, Missouri, before settling in Enid in 1978. Carol dedicated her life to serving others and sharing her faith. She loved teaching children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School; Carol found joy in helping young hearts learn about Jesus. After moving to Enid, the couple served together as directors of the Young Married Class at First Baptist Church in Enid, where they mentored many couples. Carol's greatest joy in life- apart from her relationship with Jesus- was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always advocated reading, learning, and making sure every child had a warm coat.
Carol is survived by her husband of 67 years, John Parsons of Enid; children Lisa Parsons of Enid, Carolyn Kuykendall of Enid, and Jon and Karie Parsons of Shawnee, Kansas; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Kenneth and Bobby Joe Jones; and her sister Lois Wright. Carol's life was a beautiful reflection of her faith, kindness, and love for family. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
The family requests memorial contributions in Carol's name be made to Garland Road Baptist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
