Earl Wayne Nelon, of Paden, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the age of 68. Earl was born on March 31, 1954 in Marysville, California. He was the son of EW "Dub" and Juanita (Allenbaugh) Nelon. Earl moved with his family to Paden in 1963, where he attended Paden Public Schools. Earl married Deborah "Lynne" Brown on January 19, 1988 and together, they raised three children.
Earl put his whole heart into everything he did. He was always staying busy and you would never find him sitting around. Earl was a skilled carpenter, electrician, plumber, truck driver and mechanic. He was good at everything he did and tried. Whether it be one of his many hobbies or skills, he devoted the money, time and effort into mastering it. Earl also served from 1996 to 2007 as a volunteer firefighter for the Paden Volunteer Fire Department.
Earl enjoyed riding his Harley, rodeos and drag racing. He put many miles on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. You could often find Earl at the sand dunes, with his favorite sand rail dune buggies, or at the drag strip with his beloved "We Bad II," in which he won several competitions.
Earl was always the life of the party. He enjoyed making others laugh and providing them a good time. He loved telling stories, playing cards or just sitting and enjoying his favorite cold beer. Earl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, "Uncle Dukie" and friend and will be missed by many.
Earl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 25 years, Lynne Nelon; his parents, EW "Dub" and Juanita Nelon; his grandparents, Lawrence and Velma Allenbaugh and Ollie and Lizzie "Granny" Nelon and his brother-in-law, Richard Cooper.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three children, Kristi Winkle, Barry Chandler and Nikki Chandler; five grandchildren, Tyler Winkle, Gregory Guinn, Ashley Gazelle, Timothy Chandler and Dylan Chandler; three sisters, Kenda Jezek and her husband, George, Cenda Cooper and Tracey Aaron; eight nieces and nephews, Jennifer Jezek Taussig, Eric Jezek, Amy Clay, Richard Keith Cooper, Emily Schovnec, Lyndee Cartmill, Zach Chapman and Renee Chapman; and host of family and friends.
