Louisa Ann Loper passed away at the age of 82, on Thursday, April 1, 2021 surrounded by family at her home in Chandler, Oklahoma.
Louisa was born to Gilbert and Dessie (Allen) Meier on May 31, 1938 in Bessie, Oklahoma. Louisa was raised in western Oklahoma, graduating from Burns Flatt High School in 1956. She then met and married Clyde “Ray” Loper in Bessie, Oklahoma on September 30, 1960. They then moved to the Chandler area in 1977 and have been here since. Louisa was a member of the Carney First Baptist Church and was a very active member. Louisa loved to host people in her home and took a great pride in her home. She also really enjoyed being in the garden. She tutored for a while at Wellston Schools. Louisa was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Louisa is preceded in death her husband Clyde Raymond “Ray” Loper and her parents Gilbert and Dessie Meier.
Louisa is survived by daughter Sherri Newport and her husband Tom; son Michael Loper; grandchildren Alex and Melissa Newport, Brice and Maegan Newport; and Beth and Lane McPeak; great grandchildren Beau, Jett, Claire Newport, Ben, Maddie and Caleb Newport, and Eli, Evan, and Ethan McPeak; brothers Monte Meier and wife Patti and Bobby Meier; sister Patricia Rowe and husband Larry;
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 10:30 AM at New Zion Cemetery with Pastor Alex Newport and Rev. Lane Buckley officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 pm at Carney First Baptist Church. Condolences may be offered online at www.parksbrothers.net. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
