Jacktown resident Donald "Don" Frederick Trautwein, 78, died Saturday at a local hospital.
He was born December 16, 1922, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of George Frederick and Stella Serena {Pickett} Trautwein.
He married Margret Morgan April 11, 1949, in Pleasanton, Nebraska.
He served as a pilot and air controller in the U.S. Air Force and retired with the rank of colonel from Tinker Air Force Base, Midwest City.
After his retirement, he moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he lived for twenty years before moving to Jacktown four years ago.
Mr. Trautwein was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Louise Killan.
Survivors are his wife Margret Trautwein of the home; daughters, Terri Mason, Jacktown; and Dawn Bleichner, Marion, Iowa; brother, George Trautwein, Orlando, Florida; sister, Marjorie McDonald, Castle Rock, Colorado; and five grandchildren; as well as numerous friends and loved ones.
Viewing will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church, Meeker, with the Rev. Michael Hamm officiating.
Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery, Jacktown.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
