Joyce Marie Willis Flowers

Joyce Marie Flowers was born August 9, 1953 in Oklahoma City to Betty and Sog (Branham) Willis. She passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025 at the age of 71.

A lifelong educator, Joyce taught for over 30 years and was once honored as Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom Teacher of the Year. She served as president of the White Rock School Board and was FFA "Mema" for students at Meeker, Shawnee, and North Rock Creek. She also hosted a summer quilting camp for children at White Rock School and Mammoth Baptist Church for many years.

She was active in Friends of the Library, the Quilters Guild, the Wild Widowed Women's Club, and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Flowers; parents, Betty and Sog Willis; sister, Nita Martin; brother, James Mikel Willis; and in-laws RT and Carol Flowers.

She is survived by her children, Reagan (Jeff) Carter and Jeremy (Crystal) Flowers; grandchildren, Keegan and Connor Carrera, and Cooper, Cason, and Chloe Flowers; sister, Katherine Gouker; and former son-in-law, Kevin Carrera and fiancee Misty Smith. She also leaves behind Danielle Peters, Lorallei Day and Samantha Flores, lovingly considered granddaughters by Joyce and countless other friends, family members and beloved students

A funeral will be held 10:00 am Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Mammoth Baptist Church, with interment following at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. Those attending are invited to bring and hold any special quilt made by Joyce during the service, as a way to honor her love, warmth, and the legacy of her hands and heart. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
