George Lee Ellison

George Lee Ellison, a long time resident of Meeker, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at his home in Meeker. George was born on April 22, 1932 in Meeker. He was the son of Troy Lee and and Beulah Lola (Youngblood) Ellison. George grew up and attended Meeker schools.

George worked for many years in the construction industry. He worked his way up the ranks, with hard work and accountability. He laid many miles of both sewer and water lines throughout Oklahoma City.

George married the love of his life, Geneva (Williams) Ellison on July 30, 1951 in Shawnee. The two were happily married for almost 65 years, at the time of her death. Geneva was the light of George's life.

George was also passionate about Moon, a game he loved to play with anyone who would play with him. He was an expert player and took great pride in it. He also loved to sing and he loved his cows. He had a beautiful singing voice and was also known to sing to his cows.

George was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 65 years, Geneva Ellison and his great-granddaughter, Melissa.

Those left to celebrate his life and memory are, his daughter, Glenda Brewer of Meeker; his son, Lonnie Dale Ellison and his wife, Kay, of Meeker and Collinsville; three grandsons, Travis Brewer of Meeker, J.R. Ellison of Maryland and Drew Ellison of Mustang; two granddaughters, Kimberly Brewer of Shawnee and Elizabeth Ellison of Houston, Tx; 13 great-grandchildren, Elijah, Toby, Adam, Calib, Jessamyn, Mayraya, Icle, Nevaeh, Abby, Dylan, Isabella, Cason and Jamison; one great great-grandaughter and host of family and friends.
