RONNIE GENE WITTMAN
1943 - 2015


Ronnie Gene Wittman, a longtime Stillwater resident passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the age of 71 surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 21, 1943 in Tulare, California to the late John Benjamin and Thelma McFarlin Wittman.
He attended and graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1961, after high school he began working as a apprentice tile setter, and in March of 1965 he was drafted into the United States Army.
On April 22, 1966 Ronnie married the love of his life Stella Ruth Herring, and to this union three children were born, Aaron, Derek and Benita.
Ronnie was honorably discharged from the United States Army in March 1967.
Together they moved to Enid, Oklahoma in May of 1968, after a short time there Ronnie moved his family to Stillwater, Oklahoma in November of 1968 where Ronnie owned and operated his business, {the other love of his life} Allied Tile which later became Allied Tile of Stillwater Inc.
When not working with tile, Ronnie enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake. He also enjoyed skiing but spent most of his time pulling others in his boat. Ronnie always enjoyed helping others.
He is survived by his wife Stella of the home; two sons, Aaron Wittman and wife Teresa of Stillwater; Derek Wittman of Stillwater; Benita Ervin and husband Lee of Agra; one sister, Geraldine Corter of Tahlequah; seven brothers, Jerry Wittman and wife Gloria of Stillwater; Bobby Wittman and wife Retha of Tryon; Timmy Wittman of Tahlequah; Raymond Wittman and wife Nellie of Tahlequah; Benny Wittman and wife Sharon of Agra; Douglas Wittman and wife Kathy of Tulare, California; eight grandchildren, Cynthia Sanches and husband Johnny; Rebecca Greenfield; Amber Powell and husband Trey; Summer Wittman, Autumn Wittman, Mike Ervin, Logan Ervin and Lacy Ervin; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Johnny and Virgil; and one infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Brother Monty Wittman and Brother David Thompson will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Parkland Cemetery in Parkland, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16 and Wednesday, June 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
