1950 - 2011
Joyce Ann Oakes Withrow was born April 7, 1950 in Hugo, Oklahoma and passed away at the age of 60 on February 12, 2011 with her family at her side.Joyce and husband Randy moved to Wellston in 1979. She made a home and raised her children with value and integrity.Joyce acquired many skills throughout her lifetime. When birthdays came she learned to decorate cakes. When holidays came she went all out, homemade decorations, homemade treats, and nothing was too extravagant for her to try. When friends or relatives came knocking she opened her heart and her home. Her number one title was homemaker and mother.Throughout the years she also was a cosmetologist, worked at Pioneer Camp BBQ, opened “Wellston Flowers and Gifts”. Later she went to work for Class A Cleaning. Throughout her lifetime she kept Withrow Trucking operating.Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, James Grant Oakes and Ruby Oakes Sweeten; brother, David Oakes; sisters, Lola Withrow, and LaJuan Withrow.She is survived by her husband, Randy Gene Withrow; children, Stacey and Rachelle Withrow; Rita and Willis Miller; Sandy and Johnny Beasler; grandchildren, Kayla, Austin, Kole, Aaron and Karley all of Wellston; brothers, Sam and Cecelia Oakes; Henry and Kathy Oakes; Ernest and Linda Oakes; Bunion and Vivian Oakes; Robert and Bonnie Oakes; sisters, Syble and Carlton Makerney; Tommie Oakes; Edna and Jerry Berndt; along with numerous other family, and friends who miss her dearly.Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., at Lehman Funeral Home in Wellston.Burial followed at Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston, Oklahoma.
