GRACE PHILOMENA WICKHAM
1902 - 1985


Grace Philomena Wickham, 82, was born September 13, 1902 in Lima, Ohio to Sylvester and Francis Kill and passed from this life Thursday, January 3, 1985 in Roger Mills Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne, Oklahoma following a lengthy illness.
Grace came with her parents to Oklahoma Territory in the early 1900's.
She was married to Don J. Brown, Sr. in 1920 in Eastland, Texas. They made their home in Arkansas until his death in 1948.
She then did private nursing in the New Orleans area.
On May 21, 1950 she and Carrel Raymond Wickham were married in Cheyenne.
They made their home on the Wickham Ranch north of Strong City, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Wickham had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Cheyenne for a number of years.
She had also been a member of the Eastern Star, White Shrine and Rebecca Lodges and had served as chairman of the Cancer Fund for several years.
Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands, one brother and three sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Francis Rupel of South Bend, Indiana; two sons, Don J. Brown of Gray Summitt, Missouri and Sylvester N. Brown of Strong City; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, five sisters, Anna and Cecil of Stroud, Oklahoma; Ruth of Choctaw; Cora Francis of Houston, Texas and Gertrude of Moran, Texas; one brother, Earl Kill of Piedmont, Oklahoma and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, January 7, 1995 at 10:00 a.m. in the United Methodist Church of Cheyenne, with Garland Spurgin officiating.
Graveside services and interment followed in the Stroud Cemetery, Stroud, Oklahoma at 4:00 p.m. with Rose Chapel Funeral services of Cheyenne in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Connie Fults, Gary Scott, Johnny Grant, Arthur Welty, Eddie Tom Lakey and Tom Blackwell.
