GARY MICHAEL WAYLAND
1950 - 2011
Gary Michael Wayland was born January 25, 1950 in Chandler, Oklahoma.He was the son of Garland and Lela Porter Wayland of Chandler.He passed away on July 27, 2011 at his home in Davenport, Oklahoma at the age of 61.Michael and Alicia Jones were married on June 21, 1984 in Denton, Texas.Mike served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1970 in Vietnam.He worked at Bolen Imports in Oklahoma City for several years, and went on to work for the Oklahoma Army National Guard retiring in December 2006 after 35 1/2 years of service.He then stayed active by driving a school bus for Davenport and Chandler Public Schools and devoting his time to farming, family and friends.He was a member of the American Legion and the Chandler Masonic Lodge.He was a member of the Davenport Nazarene Church.Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Katherine Merry and Wanda Usselton and one brother, Garland Wayland Jr.Survivors include his wife Alicia of the home; three children, Gary Michael Jr. and wife Emily Wayland of Davenport; William Cody and wife Haley Wayland of Germany; and Whitney Ann Wayland of Davenport; brothers Bill and wife April Wayland; Glen and wife Judy Wayland; John and wife Donna Wayland; and sister-in-law Vivian Wayland all of Chandler Oklahoma; sisters, Faye Long of Oklahoma City; Doris Dowell of Edmond and Treva and Buford Parrott of Chandler; brother-in-law Bud Usselton of Midwest City; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Chandler at the First Assembly of God with interment following at the Davenport Cemetery.
