Donald Murril Watkins, a longtime Agra resident, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011 at his home in Agra at the age of 72.Don was born on December 4, 1938 in Tryon, Oklahoma to the late Murril and Bertha Anders Watkins.He grew up and attended school in Agra, graduating from Agra High School in 1957.For a couple of years, he followed the wheat harvest, then worked to help pave Turner Turnpike. He traveled to California and back.Don married Carol Anderson, to this union, Jerry, Tammie, Randy and Sheri were born.He worked in Stillwater for Gold Spot, then moved to Enid and worked for Bond Bread Bakery for ten years before moving back to Agra.Don married Marietta Camren on May 15, 1989 in Van Buren, Arkansas, he gained three children, Michael, Chris and Steve.He began working for Mercury Marine, where he worked for twenty years, retiring on April 1, 2001.He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Agra.He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He liked to tinker and loved spending time with his family.Don is survived by his wife, Marietta Watkins of the home; sons Jerry Watkins and wife Denice of Cleveland; Randy Watkins of Cushing; Sheri Wright and husband Scott of Chandler; Tammie Wright and husband Joe of Drumright; Michael Newcity and wife Jackie of Sullivan, Missouri; Chris Newcity of Oklahoma City; brothers Loren Watkins and wife Freida of Ft. Worth, Texas; Mark Watkins and wife Shirley of Morgansfield, Kentucky; sister Karen Witte and husband Stan of Stillwater; grandchildren Dustin Wright, Amanda Watkins, Ashley Wright, Nathan Watkins, Brad Wright, Jeremy Newcity, Jeremy Alexander, Amber Yount, Jeffrey Alexander, Brooke Watkins, Tyler Watkins, Megan Wright, Morgan Newcity and Hayden Newcity.He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Robin Watkins, son, Steve Newcity, grandson, Justin Newcity and brother, Darrel Watkins.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday at the First Baptist Church, Agra. Rev. Roger Shaw will officiate.Interment will follow at Osage Cemetery, Agra. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.Memorials may be made to Valir Hospice, 825 N.
