Vera LaVonne Barton Warden was born on November 9, 1924, in Prague, Oklahoma and departed this life on Wednesday, February 15, 2006, in Wellston, Oklahoma at the age of 81.LaVonne, the daughter of Henry and Margie Stiffler Barton, was a long-time resident of Wellston.She graduated from Prague High School.She married John Robert Warden on January 4, 1946, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2001.LaVonne was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.Her parents, three brothers, and two sisters also preceded LaVonne in death.Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Henry F. and Margeann Warden of Bernice, Louisiana, daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Jim Clapp of Wellston and Joan and Jim Conrad of Ohatchee, Alabama, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Service are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18 at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Laine Buckley officiating.Burial will follow at the Prague Cemetery.Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague.
