Alvin Ray Walker, 50, Seminole resident passed from this life Tuesday, January 4, 2011, following a fatal shooting in Seminole. He was born July 6, 1960, in San Francisco, California, to parents, Alfred Lee Walker and Imogene Smith Walker.Alvin graduated from Seminole High School in 1977.He was a member of Middle Creek Indian Baptist Church No. 2 in Holdenville.He was baptized by Rev. V. V. Harjo in 1971.He had worked in Cable Construction.He married Tamalita Jackson February 20, 1985, in Shawnee.Alvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. All who loved him will sorely miss his love, smile and outgoing personality.Survivors include his wife, Tamalita Jackson Walker of the home; his parents, Imogene and Alfred L. Walker, of Seminole; three sons, Irish J. Woodmansee, of Little Axe; Jeno Brendlinger, of Harrah; Alvin Ray Walker, Jr., of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Diana Grundmeyer, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brothers, Alfred L. Walker, Jr., of Medford, Oregon; Steven Walker, of Glendale, Oregon; one sister, Felicia M. Cortez, of Medford, Oregon; nine grandchildren, Krysta Woodmansee, Addyson Woodmansee, Kaylee Woodmansee, Jaxson Woodmansee, Laurren Grundmeyer, Emiley Grundmeyer, Treay Hill, Grabrielle Hill and D. J. Grundmeyer and a host of other family and friends.Alvin was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Ruth Walker; his grandmother, Ruth Walker and by his grandfather, Dave Walker.A wake service will be 6:00 p. m., Monday, January 10, 2011, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p. m., Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Rev. Jimmy Anderson and Rev. Houston Tiger will officiate the service.Interment will follow at Jamison Cemetery in Jacktown.Casket bearers will be Steven Walker Jr., Shawn Walker, Anthony Harjo, Brian Dockery, Mickey Dockery, Dewayne Peters, David Ellis and Rick Strayhorn. Honorary bearers will be: Glen Harjo, David Walker, Jeno Brendlinger and John Wood.Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.Messages of condolences can be sent to the family online at www.swearingenfuneralhome.com.Published January 7, 2011.
