GARY WAYNE WAKOLEE
1943 - 2004
Shawnee resident Gary Wayne Wakolee, 61, died Monday, November 1, at his home.He was born October 14, 1943, in Concho to Eugene Wakole and Lillian Windemaker Wakole.He graduated from Meeker High School and owned Gary's Moving Company.In 1968, he married Gwendolyn Faught.Wakolee served two years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Sac & Fox Nation.He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Donna Green and Leona Wakolee; and a brother, Delbert Wakolee.Heather and Christian; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Debbie Wakole of Shawnee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther Armitage, Charlotte Lane, Lois Washington, and Irene McClellan, all of Shawnee; Dorothy Bohannon of California; Thelma and Ed Wilcox of Meeker; and Freda and Leon West of Kansas.Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Paul Gregg, the Rev. Ellis Rolette and the Rev. Steve Gregg officiating.Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Meeker under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.Published November 3, 2004.
