Mildred Louise Barrett Vann, age 87, of Choctaw, Oklahoma was born March 26, 1925 in Kellyville, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of William and Grace McGinnis Barrett. She left this life on Thursday, November 15, 2012, in Midwest City, Oklahoma.Mildred married Ernest Vann on December 16, 1941, in Davenport, Oklahoma.She retired from the Choctaw School system where she managed the school cafeteria at Indian Meridian Elementary.Mildred enjoyed cooking, sewing, taking care of her kids and grandkids and was a great baker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest, son, Mark Vann and son-in-law, Danny Miller.Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Bob Porter of Newalla, Oklahoma, Sandra Worthington of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Phyllis and Daniel Walker of Wellston, Oklahoma and Sue Miller of Choctaw, Oklahoma, brother, L. B. Barrett of Lomita, California, two sisters, Billie Parr of Meadow Valley, California and Neoma Croshaw of Torrance, California, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends.Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Chandler, Oklahoma with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating.Interment will follow at Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, Oklahoma.Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
