Carolyn Faye Pilgrim VanNess passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at her home in Cushing at the age of 66 years.The daughter of the late M. L. Pilgrim and Agnes Simpson Pilgrim, Carolyn was born on August 29, 1946 in Dyersburg, Tennessee.She was united in marriage to Hershel Leon VanNess on November 24, 1970 and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2012.Carolyn enjoyed reading, fishing, camping and spending time with her family and friends.Survivors include one son, John VanNess of Cushing; one daughter, Tracy Cress and her husband John of Cushing; one brother, Tom Pilgrim; her grandchildren, Vanessa Jackson and her husband J.R. of Tulsa; Christina Cress, John Cress and Justin Cress, all of Cushing; Kaitlin Silva and husband Jamin; Olivia and Peyton VanNess, all of Texas; great-grandson, Asher Silva, and other relatives and friends.Graveside services will be Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Davenport Cemetery with Reverend Gary Brown, pastor of the Park Place Baptist Church, officiating.
