JIMMY DEAN VANCE
1929 - 1996
Jimmy Dean Vance of Carney died on August 13, 1996.He was born on April 13, 1929 in Sapulpa to George and Velma Tucker Vance.He attended Ponca City High School where he finished his senior year after serving during World War II in the U. S. Marine Corps. Jimmy worked in the heating and air conditioning business.Of all his accomplishments and awards, his most treasured honor was being Deacon at Carney Christian Church.A daughter, Jenna Marie Vance, preceded him in death.Jimmy is survived by his wife, Georgia, of the home; daughters, Michelle Mobbs and Tara Vance, both of Carney; Cheryl Walton and Georgia Chappell, both of Dibble; and Tami Vance of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Lita Forsythe of Winona, Minnesota; Kalyn Pierce of Tulsa; and Judy Lattie and Sharon Wallace, both of Broken Arrow; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Carney Christian Church.Interment will be in Carney Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.A flag presentation will be made by the Marine Corps at the cemetery.Memorials may be made to Carney Christian Church Building Fund.
