RICK EDWARD TODD
1954 - 2010
Rick Edward Todd, age 55 of Ripley, Oklahoma passed away Friday morning, March 12, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Rick E. Todd was born on May 23, 1954 in Bakersfield, California where he lived until the age of 17 when he moved with a friend to Tempe, Arizona. He lived in Tempe for six years. While in Arizona he did landscaping work.
He moved to Oklahoma in 1978 until 1981 when he moved to New Jersey. He lived in various places returning to Oklahoma six years ago.
While living in Colorado he and his wife built their home in Nederland, Colorado on a mountain top.
On October 15, 1987 he was united in marriage to Verna Pernazza in Trenton, New Jersey. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2009.
He was affiliated with the Baptist Church and worked as a carpenter contractor.
He enjoyed his dogs, watching sports on TV and fishing. He especially loved his dog, Denver.
Rick is survived by his father, Norman Todd and wife Floria of Yale; his mother, Mary Ledbetter of Cushing; one brother, Rusty Todd and wife Susan of Cushing; two sisters, Sharon Wallis and husband Chris of Cushing; Debera Courson and husband Randy of Bakersfield, California; one step brother, Larry McCaslin and wife Kelly of Oklahoma City; two step sisters, Debra Haygens of Edmond and Peggy McCaslin of Cushing; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jannie and Cecil Jauch; and Edith Marie Todd and Edward Joseph Todd.
His funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cushing with Rev. Vic Morlan officiating.
Interment will follow in the Flynn Cemetery.
Visitation for Rick will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
