TRELA CAROL MANNIS
1944 - 2013


Trela Carol Wright Mannis was born July 4, 1944, and passed away on March 19, 2013, at the age of 68.
She was born in Parkland, Oklahoma to Louis and Myrtle Wright.
She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in November, 1959.
She married Jimmy Ray Thompson on June 16, 1962, and they made their home in Henryetta, Oklahoma. To this union were born two sons and one daughter, Kerby, Marvel and Landis.
After 30 years of marriage, The Lord called Jimmy home in 1992. Trela married Bill Fowler of Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1997, although they were only married 11 weeks before his passing.
In 1998, she married Lewis Mannis of Wichita, Kansas and lived there for nine years until his passing.
She then moved to Dallas, Texas to be closer to her children until 2009, when she married Howard Mannis of DeWitt, Arkansas, where she passed away. Throughout her life, she enjoyed having her church family in her home. She worked as a midwife for over 30 years. She taught her children not only in word, but also in deed and enjoyed the work of a homemaker all her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Myrtle Wright; her brother Landis {who was known as Lannie}; and her husband Jimmy Thompson.
She is survived by her husband Howard Mannis of the home; son Kerby Thompson and wife Ginger of Dallas, Texas; daughter Marvel Brown of Dallas, Texas; and son Landis Thompson and wife Miranda of Denver, Colorado; her nine grandchildren Heather and husband Justin; Katie, Taylor, Parker, Kelsey, Reagan, Davis, Casen and Creed; one brother, Randall Wright and his wife Gayle of Parkland, Oklahoma; and one sister, Janice Sweet and her husband Mickey of Chandler, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, brethren, and friends.
Viewing will be Friday, March 22, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Services will be Saturday, March 23, 10:00 am, at Parkland Church of the Firstborn, Parkland, Oklahoma.
Burial to follow in the Parkland Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
