OPAL LOUISE TEMPLE
1909 - 2006
Longtime Chandler resident Opal Louise Kalka Temple, 97, departed this life Thursday, August 24, at her home in Chandler.
She was born August 19, 1909, at the family home east of Chandler. She was the daughter of A.O. and Mabel H. Rowley Kalka.
She married Milton Glen Temple on April 19, 1935, in Chandler.
Opal was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards and other games.
She was also an avid gardener and walked frequently, even before exercise became popular.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Chandler.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; two brothers, Joe Kalka and Irvin Kalka; three sisters, Minnie Lake, Ruth Clarkson and Viola Ingram.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Temple, of Chandler; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at New Zion Cemetery, Chandler, with the Rev. Mike Mitchell and the Rev. Keith Cole officiating under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, Cancer Research Division of the Oklahoma Medical Foundation, or to Prairie View Hospice in Chandler.
