GERTRUDE INEZ TEEPLES
1923 - 2011


Gertrude “Gertie” Inez Fowler Teeples, 87, of Meeker, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011.
Gertrude was born July 12, 1923, in Norfork, Arkansas, to Benjamin Harrison and Bessie Adams Fowler.
She was a graduate of Shawnee High School.
On November 17, 1945 she married John Thurman Stell. Together they had three sons, Johnny Ray, Richard Bruce and Gary Alan. Years later, she married Junior Calvin “J.C.” Teeples. When she married J. C. she inherited three more sons, Edwin, Donald and Larry.
She was a faithful member of Family of Faith Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Bessie Fowler; step-mother, Lucy Bayne Fowler; her husband, J. C. Teeples; two brothers, Gene and Jimmy Fowler; one son, Richard Bruce Stell; two daughters-in-law, Patsy Weeks Stell and Joyce Herrod Teeples; a granddaughter, Kathleen Teeples; a great-granddaughter, Angel Straut; and a niece, Patty Mason.
Survivors include five sons, Johnny Ray Stell and wife, Eunice, of Meeker; Gary Alan Stell and wife, Kari Brown, of Choctaw; daughter-in-law, Debbie Stell, of Las Vegas, Nevada; Don Teeples, of Lewisville, Texas; Ed Teeples and wife, Lois, of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Larry Teeples, of Ft. Gibson; one brother, Ray Fowler, of El Reno; three sisters, Faye Calvert, of El Reno; Renda Hubbs, and Lola Hobson, of Midwest City; sixteen grandchildren, Toby Stell, Beth Worthley, Rachel Mason, Regina Straut, Darrin stell, Kevin Stell, Shane Stell, Toli Stell, Gary Alan Stell, Jr., Johnna Stell, Lyndsey Maggard, David Teeples, Preston Teeples, Kelly Teeples, Shawn Teeples and Ryan Teeples; twenty nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Service will be at 10:00 a. m., Friday, March 18, 2011, at Walker Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery, Meeker. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
