GENEVA J. STRAUGHAN
1932 - 1998
Shawnee homemaker Geneva J. Helms Straughan died Friday in Shawnee at the age of 65.
Mrs. Straughan was born May 7, 1932, in Payson to Benjamin Luther Lee Helms and Florence Edna Davis Helms.
She was reared in Payson, where she also attended school. She had resided in Shawnee the past 17 years.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Jeff Parke of Wisconsin; Liz and James Moore of Shawnee; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jack and Betty Brown of Meeker; Johnie Brown of Oklahoma; three brothers, Fred Helms of Muskogee; Bob Helms of Sapulpa; Elmer Lee Helms of Shawnee; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harley and Johnny Helms.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel in Tecumseh, with the Rev. Leon Williams officiating.
Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
