GOLDIE STONE
1924 - 2006
Goldie Holland Stone, retired LPN, passed away on Monday evening, January 16, 2006 in the Linwood Village Nursing Center at the age of 81 years.
The daughter of the late Spencer Holland and Dorabelle Hoskins Holland, Goldie was born on April 22, 1924 in Davenport, Oklahoma and was reared and educated in the Cushing Schools.
She was married to James Clifford Thompson and later was married to Harvey Mack Stone, and both preceded her in death.
She had worked for many years at the Cushing Hospital and for Dr. Ed Thorpe, prior to her retirement in 1980.
Goldie was a member of the Park Place Baptist Church; she enjoyed watching birds, watching soap operas, sewing, dancing, playing poker and dominoes with her family, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Glenic Cleora Perryman of Coweta; Dora Louise Clayton of Cushing; and Billie June Farar of Cushing; two sisters, Maxine Barton of Cushing; and Tommie Matherly of Yale; twelve grandchildren; thirty four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Davenport Cemetery at Davenport, Oklahoma with Reverend Ben Lacy, officiating.
