1920 - 2014
Gwendolyn Sue Stillwell was born on October 21, 1920, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 94.Sue, the daughter of Paul Lovejoy and Blanche Chaney Clay, was a resident of Prague until she became a resident of Sterling House in Shawnee, Oklahoma.She married Robert Dewitt Stillwell on February 17, 1940 in Charleston, South Carolina.Momma Sue was known for her homemade grape ice cream, she was an avid golfer, in her later years she continued meeting her weekly Tuesday golf group. She also loved to travel, she and Robert spent a great deal of time in their RV, they also enjoyed a number of cruises.Her husband and parents preceded her in death.Sue is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Jerri and Ted Gillispie of Prague; son and daughter-in-law: Robert Clay and Cheryl Stillwell of Jackson, Missouri; grandchildren: Brian Friend, Aubree Holsapple, Robbie Stillwell, Andy Stillwell, Billy Stillwell, Shawn Gillispie, Tara Mitchell, Chad Halter, and Chris Halter; twenty four great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law: Patricia Joy and Ronald Wheeler of Oklahoma City; as well as other relatives and friends.Memorials may be made in Sue’s name to Cancer Research or to Cancer Treatment Centers of America: The Gateway for Cancer Research 1336 Basswood Road Schaumburg, Illinois 60173.Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating.Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
