HAROLD N. STEVENS
1927 - 2010


Harold Stevens, age 83, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on April 25, 2010 at his home in Cushing.
Harold was born February 22, 1927 in Parkland, Oklahoma to the late Durward and Ruby Barton Stevens.
He grew up in the Agra and Parkland area and attended Parkland school.
He married Elsa Earnest on December 5, 1946 in Columbus, Kansas, a union that lasted 63 years until her passing on January 11, 2010.
The couple made their home in Cushing and to this union eight children were born.
Harold was a member of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.
He had been a truck driver for various companies in various capacities.
He loved traveling, including two trips to Alaska and many others all over the U.S. and Canada.
He liked to garden and also loved to fish with his dad and brother.
Harold is survived by sons Durward Stevens and wife Thelma of Bristow; Buddy Stevens and wife Carol of Stillwater; daughters Sonja Billingsley and husband Marty of Cushing; Tawanna Partridge of Cushing; Sharron Smith and husband Bud of Cushing; Mona Lybarger of Dexter, Oregon; sisters Alice Penrod of Redding, California; Geneva Northrup and husband Lloyd of Alturas, California; and Sue McCilester and husband Robert of Klamath, California; grandchildren Yavette Farris, Cory Smith, Robin Edwards, Kimberly Wright, Brittney Hinkle, Tracy Stevens, Delinda Rodgers, Christle Jones, Alicia Butler, Shannon Duvall, Shelle Goodman, Brad Billingsley, Richard Lybarger, Chad Lybarger, Evan Lybarger and Travis Royce; twenty-seven great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Elsa Stevens; daughter Debbie Royce and infant daughter Alona Sue Stevens; one granddaughter Carrie Ann Stevens; one great granddaughter Torrie Denae Hinkle; his brother Gene Stevens; sisters Juanita Northrup, Darlene Overacker and Peggy Rodgers; and brother-in-law Don Penrod.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Cushing. Brother Fred Britton will officiate.
Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
