ORVAL V. STANKA JR.
1946 - 2005
Orval V. Stanka Jr., 58, died Monday, June 27, 2005, in Oklahoma City.
Graveside services were today at 11:00 a.m. in the Parkland Cemetery, with the Rev. John Miller, Yukon, officiating.
Services were under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
The son of Orval V. Stanka Sr. and Gertrude Stine Stanka, he was born August 21, 1946, in Hobbs, New Mexico.
He grew up in Warr Acres, went to school in Putnam City and graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City in 1965. He lived in Warr Acres, Cushing, Yukon, Okarche and Oklahoma City.
He loved trains, traveling and was a huge University of Oklahoma sports fan, especially football.
He was a special child of Christ that had special gifts. May God have a special place in heaven for “Vincy.”
He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving him are his mother of Oklahoma City; one brother, Lyle Stanka and his wife, Kathy, of Yukon; one niece, Lisa Johnston and her husband, Wes; two great-nieces, Ava and Livia Johnston; one step-niece, Keri Walton and her husband, Chris; cousins, Arthur “Bob” Freeman and Alan Freeman and his wife, Carol as well as other relatives and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Oklahoma.
