DARNELL RICHARD SNEED
1951 - 2015
Darnell Richard Sneed was born August 9, 1951, the oldest of seven children, in Chandler to Ovid Brown and Ostella Anna Jewel Sneed Neal. He departed this life April 12, 2015 in Oklahoma City at the age of 63.Darnell grew up in Chandler where he attended Jr. High at Douglas. He went to Job Corp in San Marcos, Texas, where he was certified as a welder. As a young man he attended Bethel AME Church. He moved away as a young man and persued jobs in the Culinary Arts, until his health began to fail him and he returned home to Chandler in 2008.He had a love of baseball and as a young boy he was a pitcher who could strike anyone out until he threw his arm out. Darnell was a fun, outgoing person who was a joy to be around. Most of his adult life was spent in Chicago until he returned home to Chandler where he resided for the past ten years.Darnell was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Jewel; grandparents, Ostell and Lillie Sneed; and brother-in-law, Arthur Williams.He leaves to cherish his memory his two sisters, Pamela {Sneed} Williams of Spencer; and Teresa Wrenn of Chandler; four brothers, Ostell {Roy} Sneed and his wife Nora of Spencer; Trent Wrenn of Lawton; Erbert {Pete} Wrenn; and John Neal, Jr. both of Chandler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins; special aunts, Dorothy Smith, Nardell Maxwell, Marilyn Moore, and a host of other relatives and friends.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Lehman Funeral Home with Reverend W. I. Brown officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
