NOBLE WILLIAM SMITH OBITUARY
Submitted by: Jean Feaster

The County Republican, September 1, 1937
ELECTRIC BOLT KILLS FARMER
A freak bolt of lightning which featured a sudden squall of thunder and showers in the Meeker vicinity Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of 32-year-old Noble Smith, at his home, five miles northwest of here. Smith, who was born and reared near Meeker, was felled by a bolt of lightning about 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon as he hurried from the barn to his farm home.
Spasmodic showers accompanied the brilliant electrical display but there was no heavy precipitation generally reported in the Lincoln-Pottawatomie county area.
Smith is survived by a widow and four children, Mrs. Nellie Smith, Paul, Ronald, Wilma Joe, and Maranell. His father, C.G. Smith, resides at Seminole.
Two brothers, Charles Smith, Jr., and Basil Smith, live at Meeker, and three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Phillips of McLoud, Mr. Bonnie Porcupile of Seminole and Mrs. Marguerite Spearman of Maud, also survive.
