MARK RODNEY SMITH
1945-2014Mark Rodney Smith, born on March 30, 1945 to Brooks and Barbara Williams Smith, a longtime Richardson, Texas resident passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Richardson, Texas at the age of 69.He married the love of his life Sherril Moore on September 13, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada.He was retired in Richardson for many years.Mark was very talented in woodworking, building gazebos and other furniture.He enjoyed raising birds and cooking. Mark rescued many birds, cats, squirrels and nursed them back to health.He also found time to write three novels and poetry.Mark is survived by his wife Sherril Smith of the home; daughter Kenye Weber; sons, Shawn Smith and Jason Smith; brother Tim Smith; grandson Fredrick Weber; Bennet and Anders Smith; granddaughter Brooke Smith; sister-in-law Shirley Duckworth and husband Ken; nephews Kyle Greene, Bobby Greene and Thomas Greene.Mark was preceded in death by his parents Brooks and Barbara Smith; and nephew Wesley Greene {Honey Boy}; and niece Rene’ Greene.Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Flynn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
