BERNICE SIMS
1919 - 2015


Bernice Thies Sims, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on February 10, 1919, in Springfield, Illinois, and departed this life on March 2, 2015, in Harrah, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years.
Bernice was the daughter of Henry and Ethel Davis Thies.
She married Ardel Sims. She worked as a school cook for many years and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Her parents, husband, one daughter, one granddaughter, one sister, and one brother, preceded Bernice in death.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Beverley Sims of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Kathy Morgan of Chandler; Teresa Mashaney of Oklahoma City; David Foley of Yukon, Oklahoma; and Ken Sims of Brooklyn, New York; six great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015, at Parks Brothers Chapel in Chandler, with Mary Ann Matthews officiating.
Burial will follow at Davenport Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
