VIRGINIA ELIZABETH SHAW
1920 - 2015
Virginia Elizabeth Shaw, 95, of Meeker, died Thursday, December 31, 2015, in Shawnee.
She was born April 16, 1920, in Meeker, the daughter of Benjamin J. Christy and Virgia Bragg Christy.
She attended Meeker schools and married Orin F. Shaw on February 21, 1941.
She spent much of her life as a homemaker but worked at Tinker Air Force Base during WWII.
She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Meeker.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, shopping, and music, but most of all spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Jerry Keith Shaw, an infant son, Robert Christy Shaw, a sister, Mary Lou Way and a great-granddaughter, Summer Savannah Graves.
Survivors include daughters, Ruth Anne West and husband, Paul of Shawnee and Marsha Price and husband, Eugene of Shawnee; daughter-in-law: Pricilla Shaw of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Robin Shaw Wiley and husband, Jeff of South Carolina, Kristin West Maddox and husband, Russell of Shawnee, Melanie Shaw Graves and husband, Michael of Iowa, and O. J. Price and wife, Amy of Shawnee; fifteen great-great-grandchildren, Darci, Aubri, Maci, Noemi, Graci, Jeffery, Brooklynne, Annaliese, Shelby, Sterling, Sophia, Matthew, Robert, Madison and Joseph; four great-grandchildren, Sarah, Brylee, Emily and Elliana; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
The family will be at Walker Funeral Home to receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 5, at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Dave Price and Rev. Ron Baldridge officiating.
Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
