DESI RAE SCOTT
1956-2011
Desi Rae Scott, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011 in the St. Francis Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years.
The daughter of Kenny Lawman and Mary Louise {Gordon} Lawman, Desi was born on December 26, 1956 in Vallejo, California.
Her family moved frequently while she was growing up, living in California, Montana, Florida, and Alabama. In 1971 they moved to Cushing where she met Leonard Scott and the two later married on November 11, 1972 in Arkansas.
Desi and her husband Leonard made their home in Cushing where they raised their three daughters, Dixie, Leslie and Stacy. Leonard preceded Desi in death on November 24, 1999.
She loved to take care of her dog and have her daily snack of cookies and ice cream.
She is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Gary Sams of Cushing; three daughters, Dixie Harris and her husband Heath of Cushing; Leslie Roe and her husband Kelly of Cushing; and Stacy Myers of Stillwater; two brothers, Danny Booth and Dean Booth, both of Alabama; four sisters, Nel Booth and her husband Larry Sallet of Florida; Jan Coggins of Alabama; Debbie Bradley and her husband Steve of Alabama; and Marsha Faulk and her husband Bob of Alabama; step-father, Wesley Booth of Alabama; eight grandchildren, Kyle Roe, Keeley Roe, Waylon Roe, Wyatt Roe, Kaylie Morris, Joey Myers, Lindsey Myers and Jake Harris; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband Leonard, Desi was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Olin Lane Willis.
Graveside services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in the Flynn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.
