1928 - 2011
Colleen Jeanne Curry Schroeder was born December 18, 1928, in Fairfax and departed this life Wednesday, February 9, 2011, in Oklahoma City at the age of 82.Colleen, the daughter of Dewey F. and Eva E. Hayes Curry, was a longtime resident of Chandler. She was a graduate of Chandler High School and the University of Oklahoma.She married Keith L. Schroeder July 9, 1950, in Chandler.She was the former co-owner and editor of Lincoln County News, co-owner of House of Furniture Store in Chandler, and co-owner of Curry Funeral Homes in Chandler, Stroud, Meeker and Wellston. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Chandler, Eastern Star, PEO, American Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of the American Revolution.Her parents preceded Colleen in death.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Brenda Schroeder of Chandler, two daughters and son-in-law, Dianne and Phillip Morgan of Atlanta, Georgia, Laine Schroeder of Plano, Texas, one sister, Jo Ann Appleby of Chandler, eight grandchildren, Wesley, Scott, Miranda, Brittany and Ben Schroeder, Mason Carver, Jennifer and Stephanie Morgan and other relatives and many friends.Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, with Rev. Danny Moss officiating.Burial will follow at the Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.A guestbook is available to share your memories online.
