CONN JOSEPH SADLER
1922 - 2015
Conn Joseph Sadler, a former resident of Cushing passed away at the age of 92 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.He was born on October 21, 1922 in Wellston, Oklahoma to the late J.A. and Idella Gaither Sadler.He grew up in Cushing, attending Cushing High School.Conn married the first love of this life Goldalee Holland on January 1, 1941 and to this union three children were born Connie, Larry, and Joy. Together they spent over 60 years together before her passing in 2003.He never stopped working. He took his first job as a janitor at the First National Bank, and was always working on cars. He later took a job as a Lab technician and as a chemist for Deep Rock/ Kerr McGee in Cushing for 32 years.He started a family owned and operated business, Sadler Ditching before finally retiring at the age of 61.Conn not only worked hard for others but he also worked hard for his Lord, he was called into the Ministry at the age of 33, pastoring many Free Will Baptist churches and starting two churches, one in Ponca City and the other in Stillwater. The last church he pastored was the Trinity First Free Will Baptist Church.He married his second love in Kathryn Gaither, April 2003. Together they created many memories and shared many things and enjoyed each other’s company.Conn is survived by his wife of 12 years, Kathryn of the home; one son, Connie Lee Sadler and wife Jacque of Cushing; one daughter, Joy {Sadler} Wattenburger and husband Jon of Cushing; one brother, Wallace Sadler and wife Billie of Perkins; one sister, Eletha {Sadler} Sherrod of Derby, Kansas; six grandchildren, Lori {Sadler} Brown and husband Darrell; Barri {Sadler} Mann and husband Rod; Shannon {Sadler} Wilson; Lance Sadler and wife Anna; Jenny Sadler; Gara Stidham and husband Scott; step children, Freddie Gaither and wife Brenda; Ronnie Gaither and wife Diane; Peggy Coty and husband Lee; all of Midwest City; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and family.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Goldalee; son, Larry Sadler; grandson, Andy Sadler; four brothers, J.D. Sadler, Russell Sadler, James Sadler and Coy Sadler; one sister, Maxie Raney and one-stepdaughter, Margaret Dittmeyer.Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday July 6, 2015 at the Eisenhower Funeral Home NE Chapel, 8805 N.E. 23rd St. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73141.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma.
