Karla Sue Newport Rossiter, age 48 of Cushing, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Cushing, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family.Karla was born on July 15, 1968 in Tulare, California to George and Arleta Boyd Newport.She grew up and attended school in Palisade, Colorado.Karla met and married the love of her life, Steven Rossiter on January 4, 1986 in Palisade, Colorado and to this union six children were born, Timothy, Watson, Seth, Lena, Samantha and Lauren.Karla was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on July 5, 1981 in a river near Mesa, Colorado by Brother Cliff Cole.She worked for Wal-Mart in the Deli in both Colorado and in Cushing. They moved to Cushing in 2001 where they made their home. Karla worked for a short time also at Maverick and Subway.She enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, playing sudaku, card games and dominoes. She loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren.Karla is survived by three sons, Timothy Rossiter and wife Kristin of Oklahoma City, Watson Rossiter of Cushing and Seth Rossiter and wife Brianna of Cushing, three daughters, Lena Norris and husband Scott of Agra, Samantha Rossiter of Cushing and Lauren Turpin and husband Joshua of Cushing, honorary daughter, Stacy Akins and husband Jacob, nine grandchildren, Melissa Rossiter, Amaryllis Rossiter, Cambri Rossiter, Vanessa Norris, Skyler Turpin, Riley Turpin, Laylen Rossiter, and Gracie and Trenton Akins, sister, Peggy Easter and husband Joe of Grand Junction, Colorado, brothers Mark Newport and wife Amanda of Tulare, California andLuke Newport and wife Tiffany of Palisade, Colorado.Karla was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Steven Rossiter and brother, Rex Newport.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016 at General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Parkland. Brother Benny Wittman and Brother Darrell Easter will officiate.Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday evening at Palmer Marler Funeral Home.Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
