HAROLD H. RODGERS
1963 - 2013


Harold H. Rodgers, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in his home at the age of 90 years.
Harold was born May 7, 1923 at Ripley, Payne County, Oklahoma, the third of five children to Marshall and Dolly Pruitt Rodgers.
He was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn by Brother Ace Wells at the age of 17.
On June 6, 1942, he married Amy Carmichael in Cushing, Oklahoma. They lived in California for a short period of time before moving back to a farm south of Cushing in 1947, living there until August 1963 when they moved to Missouri. In 1979 they moved to Enid, Oklahoma where he worked as a brick mason.
To the union of Harold and Amy, nine children were born, eight of which survive him, four sons, Hershel {Karen} Rodgers; Walter {Faye} Rodgers, both of Enid, Oklahoma; Loyal {Susie} Rodgers of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Eldon {Jennifer} Rodgers of Mounds, Oklahoma: four daughters, Leondra {Dorsey} Stoddard of Bristow, Oklahoma; Coeta {Danny} Godwin; Belva {Eugene} Skinner; both of Cushing, Oklahoma; and Rucilla {Russell} Davis of Kellyville, Oklahoma.
After the passing of Amy in September 2001, he then married Nina Hood of Cushing in 2002 and she predeceased him in September of 2011.
He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister Emma Lee {Addrien} Smith of Visalia, California; a host of other family, brethren and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife Amy; one sister; two brothers; one infant son Virgil; and several half brothers and sisters.
Family will greet friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013 in the General Assembly and the Church of the Firstborn, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Burial will follow in the Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.
