1947 - 2013
Floyd Lee Rich was born on March 22, 1947, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, January 12, 2013, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 65.Floyd, the son of Floyd P. and Elsie R. Hand Rich, had been a resident of Prague all of his life.He graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1965.He and Jane Biles were united in marriage on March 25, 1968 in Chandler, Oklahoma.Floyd was a prominent farmer and rancher in the Lincoln County area. He was a past president of the Lincoln County Fair Board, past president of the Lincoln County Cattlemen's Association, was a Board member of the Oklahoma Brahma Breeders Association and a former owner of the Prague Farm and Ranch Store. Floyd was honored to be one of thirteen breeders invited to sell a heifer at the International Brahma Breeders Sale to be held in March of this year.He had served as a member of the Lincoln County Excise Board and had received the Honorary State Farmer Award. Additionally, he was employed at Central Plastics in Shawnee from 2000 until 2010. He also served six years in the U. S. Army Reserves. In addition to his professional and civic contributions, Floyd was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with his family.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Martha Dillman.Survivors include his wife of forty four years, Jane Rich, of the home in Prague, three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeramy and Cambor Rich, Tim and Amy Rich, Bob and Wendy Rich, all of Prague, grandchildren, Kailey Rich, Gracey Rich, Emma Rich, Mattie Rich and Ethan Rich, two brothers-in-law, Ronald Dillman of Prague and Robert Biles of Huntsville, Texas.The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons and Bro. Mike Haines officiating.Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery.ServiceS are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
