ANNITTA LOU RICE
1936 - 2011


Annitta Lou Rapp Rice was born July 21, 1936, in Shawnee and departed this life Thursday, January 13, 2011, in Shawnee at the age of 74.
Annitta, the daughter of Harry Earnest and Emma Lou Head Rapp, was a longtime resident of Meeker.
She was a graduate of Meeker High School with the class of 1954.
She married Leon Rice March 14, 1953, in Meeker.
She was a homemaker, an EMT and retired from the Meeker schools, where she was the cafeteria manager for many years.
Her hobbies included cooking, crafts, bowling, and she loved to fish with her buddy, Leon.
Annitta also volunteered at Unity Hospital.
Her parents and great-grandchild, Kelsey Smith Briggs, preceded Annitta in death.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Leon Rice, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Joseph and Jerry Rice, of Newalla; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Lou and Rex Haugh, of Shawnee, Teresa Kay and Jay Sigman, of Shawnee, and Tara Anne and Jay Matthews, of Henryetta; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Bob Hedge, of Meeker; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one niece; three nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2011, at Mammoth Baptist Church in Meeker with the Rev. Mike Hazelwood and the Rev. Glen Walters officiating.
Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
