SHIRLEY JEAN RAMSEY
1934 - 2015


Shirley Jean Bowker Ramsey, 80, joined our heavenly father on June 17, 2015.
Shirley was born August 12, 1934 to the late Lavinia and Jeff Bowker of Davenport, Oklahoma.
She graduated from Davenport High School in 1952 and soon after married the love of her life and devoted husband of 63 years, Dale Ramsey.
Shirley and Dale moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1965 where they raised their three children and lived on a quiet farm just outside of Eugene until they retired in 1986.
She enjoyed music. She played the piano, the dulcimer and loved to sing. She performed with the Chandler Dulcimer Dames.
She also grew up riding horses and rode in many local Davenport and Chandler parades alongside her beloved father.
Shirley loved children and gave of herself in career and life by working with special needs children in Eugene, Oregon.
She was a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church in Davenport and a member of the Chandler Eastern Star.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Lavinia and Jeff Bowker; and her brother, Bill.
Survivors include her husband and best friend, Dale Ramsey; their three children, Jeff, Dala and Jane; seven grandchildren, Dawn, Shannon, Jerrad, William Dale, McKenzie, Evan and Grant; five great-grandchildren; loving cousins whom she thought of as sisters, Loydell and Phyllis; her brother’s wife, Louanna and son, Jeffrey Clyde.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Presbyterian Church in Davenport with interment following at the Davenport Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
