Ollie Mae McFarlin Quinn, age 85, formerly of the Tryon, Agra area passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at her residence in Dexter, Oregon.Ollie was born on May 31, 1928, to Arthur and Nellie Burger McFarlin in Kendrick, Oklahoma.She was raised and educated in and around the Agra area.She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on December 2, 1942 by Bro. Claude Greenfield.In the early 1940’s, the family moved to Tulare, California, where she met and married Calvin Henry Rossiter on December 12, 1944. To this union were born five sons and two daughters. Ollie and Calvin spent most of their married life in Tulare, California, with a short time in Tyron, Oklahoma.Calvin passed away on March 1, 1976. On July 5, 1976, Ollie married Jimmy Quinn in Tulare. Ollie helped Jim raise his son, James, throughout James’ teenage years. Jimmy Quinn passed away April 16, 1998.In July, 2004, Ollie moved to Dexter, Oregon to live with her son, Clifford and his wife, Glenda, where she resided until her death.Ollie worked with her husband, Calvin in their hay hauling business until his death.She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and canning. She was famous among her family for her homemade yeast buns and persimmon cookies.She loved to crochet and embroidery work and, in her last years, spent many hours making pillowcases, dresser scarves, and tea towels as gifts for her family and friends. Last Christmas, she gave each of her children a quilt that she had embroidered and quilted by hand.Ollie is survived by daughters Joanne {Lyle} Mack of Glencoe, Oklahoma; Theresa {Ramone} Oceguera of Carson City, Nevada; sons, Clifford {Glenda} Rossiter of Dexter, Oregon; Bill {Lisa} Rossiter of Drumright, Oklahoma; Steven {Karla} Rossiter and Michael Rossiter, both of Cushing, Oklahoma; James {Brenda} Quinn of Tulare, California; thirty five grandchildren fifty nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by sister Mary {Leo} Rains of Ripley, Oklahoma; brother, Loyal “Bud” {Lois} McFarlin of Tryon, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Ollie is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a son, Calvin Duane Rossiter; sisters, Ervie Murch, Thelma Wittman, Sarah Linder Carmichael, Nina Hood Rodgers and Alfa Faye Pruitt; brothers, James, LeeRay, Arthur, Henry and Clarence McFarlin.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, Cushing, Oklahoma.Burial will follow in Parkland Cemetery. Brother Allen Rossiter and Brother Kirk Stoddard will officiate.
