JOHN L. QUARY
1935 - 2014


John L. Quary was born on November 1, 1935, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, October 25, 2014, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 78.
John L., the son of Sidney and Myrta Thompson Quary, was a resident of Prague.
He married Gayle Case on March 30, 1957, in Prague.
John L. spent over 30 years working at Prague IGA, many of those years serving as the assistant store manager.
He was a longtime member of Prague First Baptist Church.
He was a true sportsman, an avid golfer and baseball player. He played brush league baseball, which later translated into coaching many local youth league baseball teams.
John L.'s parents, five brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gayle Quary of the home; son, John Michael Quary of Ardmore; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Audie Terrell of Prague and Sheila and Mark St. Cyr of Jones; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Benny and Mary Joyce Quary of Prague and Frank and Sharon Quary of Stroud; sisters and brother-in-law, Pearl Lopez of Prague and Cora Nell and Jim Eastep of Paden; many other family and friends.
The Quary family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating.
Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery.
The family has requested that donations be made to Prague First Baptist Church or to the Prague Golf Course.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
