KAY PRUITT

Kay Huffman Pruitt, a longtime Cushing area resident, passed away on Sunday morning, November 29, 2009 at her home at the age of 57 years.
The daughter of the late Dale Huffman and Eunice Ralston Huffman, Kay was born on January 22, 1952 in Chandler, Oklahoma.
She was raised by her grandparents Elba and Inez Ralston in Agra, Oklahoma.
Kay was united in marriage to Jerry Dowe Pruitt in 1968 near Agra.
She was a member of the Church of the Firstborn and had helped many women during childbirth as a midwife.
She loved hunting, mowing and working in her yard but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play ball.
Survivors include her husband, Dowe Pruitt; one son, Jeff Pruitt and his wife, Sholie of Ripley; two daughters, Felicia Sloate and her husband, Anthony of Cushing; and Lori Greenfield and her husband, Brandon of Ripley; two sisters, Faye Rodgers of Enid and Betty Howard of Chandler; seven grandchildren, Ryan Pruitt, Kolbey Pruitt, Taylor Sloate, Caulden Greenfield, Madilyn Sloate, Cade Greenfield and Chloe Sloate; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, Kay was preceded in death by two infant sons, Jerry Lynn Pruitt and Jason Wade Pruitt; and one grandson, Braden Greenfield.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in the Church of the Firstborn in Cushing with Brothers Wayne Tibbett and Troy Toland officiating.
Burial will follow in the Flynn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.
